Irakli Makalatia

Irakli Makalatia - Ph.D. in economics is a president of NGO Economic Policy Experts Center" since 2015. In 2014 he defended his Ph.D. thesis on „Statistical research of living standards of Georgia’s population”. As an invited lecturer Irakli gives lectures at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and Caucasus University. He is an anchor at project „Professionals” on radio „Commersant”.

From 2014 he has been actively involved in the projects of Friedrich Naumann Foundation regarding free economy. In his year he also performed as a researcher in the project of the center: "Methodology errors in subsistence minimum research in Georgi, optimization of minimal consumer basket and calculation of subsistence minimum". His research interests are subsistence minimum and methodology of system of national accounts. He is an author of more than 20 scientific researches and publications.

 

Vepkhia Giorgadze

Vepkhia Giorgadze is a vice-president at NGO Economic Policy Experts Center" since 2009. He is in charge of information-analytical and legislative base programs. Has actively been involved in the projects of „Friedrich Naumann Foundation“ since 2014. He has organized professional and academic training courses for students, pupils, youth organisations of political parties and representatives of civil societies.

Vepkhia is a Ph.D. candidate at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. His research area is economic principles of state property privatization, development of stock market and free market relations in Georgia.

 

 

 

Mate Gardava

Mate Gardava is one of the founders of NGO „Economic Policy Experts Center”. He hold a position of executive director at the center in 2009-2010. Coordinates lectures, trainings, researches and other projects done by the organisation. Together with the team defines the policy, principles, goals and directions that are basis for activities of the center.

Mate Gardava is a Ph.D. candidate at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. In 2011-2012 he gave lectures in International Economic Relations and Financial Programming and Policy courses. His research interests are related to economic foundations of privatization of state property and free industrial zones.

 

 

 

 

Tengiz Taktakishvili

Dr. Tengiz Taktakishvili manages department of international relations at the NGO Economic Policy Experts Center". In 2016 he defended Ph.D. thesis on „Microeconomic effects of agrifood subsidies in Georgia (case of vine growers)”.

In 2013-2015 Tengiz was visiting scholar at the universities of Bremen, Vilnius and Bologna. Since 2013 he has been actively involved in organization and management of student conferences, trainings, lectures-seminars. He has participated in many translation projects and has translated leading books in economics and business.
